Below you will find election deadlines for the next six months. These deadlines relate to the rules set out in the Electoral Acts as amended and in the Standards Commission’s Guidelines. For further information see below.
| 22 July 2024 | Claims for payment of election expenses from suppliers, must be received by the mayoral election agent by this date |
| 2 August 2024 | Date by which all Election Expenses Statements must be furnished to the Standards Commission (applies to election agents for successful and unsuccessful candidates) |
| 2 August 2024 | Date by which unsuccessful candidates must furnish to the Standards Commission their Donation Statements, Certificate of Monetary Donations and Bank Statements |
| 31 January 2025 | Date by which the Limerick Mayor must furnish to the Standards Commission his/her annual returns, including Donation Statements, Certificate of Monetary Donations, and Bank Statements |

The Commission has guidelines for candidates, election agents, national agents of political parties and other persons to ensure compliance with legislation for election to the Dáil, Seanad, European Parliament and presidency.
The guidelines relate to disclosure of political donations, prohibited donations, limits on election spending and reimbursement of election expenses.
