The Civil Service Code of Standards and Behaviour sets out a framework for civil servants to work within. You must behave according to the code’s principles and live by its values. The Commission can investigate possible breaches of the code.
The code applies to civil servants of the Government and of the State.
Under the code, civil servants must deliver services to a high standard, behave appropriately at work and maintain the highest standards of probity.

Civil servants are subject to the Ethics Acts and to a tailored code of conduct that sets out standards of behaviour expected. In order to help you understand your obligations, the Commission also publishes guidance and information notices from time to time.
