PRESS RELEASE
The Standards in Public Office Commission (the ‘Commission’) decided to carry out an investigation into acts or omissions by Mr. Kenneth O’Flynn (‘the respondent’), at a time when he was a councillor in Cork City Council, which are alleged to contravene the Local Government Act 2001 and the Code of Conduct for Councillors and/or to constitute a specified act under the Standards in Public Office Act 2001.
In advance of commencing its investigation, the Commission intends to hear a preliminary application by the respondent. The application will be heard on 19 May 2025 commencing at 10am in the offices of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, PSI House, 15-19 Fenian Street, Dublin 2, D02 TD72.
Attendance by members of the public and the media will only be facilitated online via Zoom. Requests to observe the application via Zoom should be made by email to complaints@sipo.ie before 4pm on Friday 16 May 2025. Remote login details will then be provided.
