When the Standards Commission conducts an investigation under the Ethics Acts, we give the relevant parties and others specified in the legislation a report on the outcome.
Investigations under section 23 of the Ethicsin Pubic Office Act 1998 (the 1995 Act) relate to possible non-compliance with the Ethics Acts.
Investigations under sections 21 and 23 of the Standards in Public Office Act 2001 9the 2001 Act) relate to possible non-compliance with the more technical aspects of tax compliance.
The Commission cannot publish investigation or inquiry reports under the other legislation it oversees.
